  Brutalism Geisel Library Location: La Jolla, California Year built: 1970 Architects: William L. Pereira & Associates   The aggressive, large, blocky, and rigid style emerged in the 1950s. They are blocky geometric and made oftentimes mostly out of concrete. I find myself drawn to this style, it's plain but complex, it's intriguing but stand-offish. In my eyes, it gives off the feeling of power and aggression but to my surprise, this building is a library. I have included three images of the library to show how beautiful it is and the different ways it looks throughout the day. The building is n amed after local La Jolla author and benefactor Theodor Seuss Geisel. This building is home to a large collection of Dr. Seuss's drawings, books, audio recordings, and memorabilia. There are over 8,500 items and is also home to a large bronze statue of the Cat in the Hat that welcomes all visitors. I would love to visit this incredible building and see the outside and inside as
